HOURS: Full Time (35 hours/week) Mon to Fri 9am – 5pm with some limited weekend and evening work required.
LOCATION: Hybrid with remote and in-person (from our Dublin 4 office) working
OFFICE DAYS: Office attendance days are Wednesday & Thursday

We’re looking for a Survivorship Manager to join our team for a period of maternity leave cover. As Survivorship Manager, you will manage existing survivorship and lead the envelopment of new innovative supports for people impacted by cancer through multiple delivery channels.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
A cancer diagnosis impacts all areas of a person’s life. At the Irish Cancer Society, we aim to reduce this burden of cancer and improve the quality of life for everyone affected by cancer.
The role of the Survivorship Manager is to manage existing survivorship and welfare supports, and lead the envelopment of new innovative supports for people impacted by cancer through multiple delivery channels.
You will work with the Head of Service Operations, your direct reports and the wider Services Team to achieve the ambitions for survivorship supports set out in the Irish Cancer Society strategy. You will lead a programme to identify, develop and deliver new support services to help reduce the burden of cancer and improve the quality of life of people affected by cancer.
You will be the lead relationship manager for how we engage and work with community-based cancer support groups, enabling the Society to deliver evidence-based high impact services.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work with the Head of Service Operations and other colleagues to translate the ambition set out in the Society’s strategy to enhance cancer survivorship supports into a comprehensive implementation plan.
2. Work with the Survivorship Team to design & develop new initiatives and supports.
3. Prioritise the implementation phasing for new initiatives and supports.
4. Ensure that the new initiatives and supports developed are aligned and integrated with organisational ambition for enhancing overall service user experience.
5. Manage the process of innovative change effectively and remain on the forefront of emerging practices and approaches.
6. Provide overall project management, risk management, coordination and support for survivorship and welfare based projects, internal & external.
7. Prepare updates and project progress reports, including program performance and outcomes and provide recommendations for future planning;
8. Manage contractual obligations with external partners and contracted staff for all assigned projects such as ExWell Medical, CSCs and support such work;
9. Monitor timelines, delivery of projects and oversee budget for assigned initiatives (including the development of appropriate budget tracking and oversight procedures);
10. Develop detailed project plans that identify timelines, deliverables and resource requirements for assigned initiatives; create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements;
11. Work with senior colleagues to develop strategic partnership opportunities with which to increase the reach and impact of survivorship and community support programmes.
12. Establish and strengthen collaborative relationships, both internal and external, to foster links in areas of mutual interest;
13. Liaise with organisations, including Department of Health, National Cancer Control Programme, network of Community Cancer Support Centres and other relevant organisations to further the impact of the Society’s work;
14. Develop and operationalise an overall strategy for engagement with Community Cancer Support Centres and act as overall lead for the Society’s relationships with these community groups;
15. Coordinate, and deliver, consultation sessions with cancer survivors, health professionals, academic researchers and policy-makers;
16. Facilitate team and stakeholder meetings effectively;
17. Identify partnership opportunities and work with key stakeholders to enhance existing programs and services;
18. Develop opportunities to actively promote, share learnings and facilitate collaboration with partners and stakeholders;
19. Represent the Society and promote its work and strategic initiatives through presentations, attendance at conferences and other activities.
20. Lead and motivate an effective and high-performing team, supporting the development of team members.
21. Motivate internal and external stakeholders to work effectively together and pro-actively participate in networking related activities;
22. Communicate effectively and persuasively at all levels, from the clinical, academic and community based settings through to the Society’s executive management team;
23. Respond to queries from the wider Irish Cancer Society team, the public, community organisations and health care professionals on survivorship initiatives.
24. Budget preparation and tracking of all assigned survivorship initiatives.

WHO YOU ARE
1. Excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
2. Strong facilitation and training skills.
3. Excellent organisational, administration and co-ordination skills.
4. Excellent ICT skills, including MS Office suite, MS Teams and a good working knowledge of data base management.
5. Ability to work effectively with co-workers and collaborate with health and social care professionals, NCCP, community organisations and others to maintain and build partnerships, to maximise the impact of joint resources.
6. Proactive and flexible in approach.
Qualifications/Experience:
1. A degree or professional qualification in Healthcare, Social Care, Health Science, Social Science, Nursing, Community Development or related field. Additional relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a formal education qualification.
2. A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in programme management, project management, design and/or implementation of new services and stakeholder engagement. The Irish Cancer Society measures experience by the quality of the experience gained, rather than number of years worked.
3. Experience in needs assessment, project planning and project management, evaluation and report writing
4. An in-depth understanding of approaches/strategies required to address social and health inequalities at service design level.
An in-depth understanding of strategies and policies relating to cancer and chronic disease management, and health equity at both regional and national level.
