Job Summary:

The data center is one of its kind in the United States with total worldwide assets in excess of US$2 trillion.
A world-class data center seeks an experienced Data Center Technician for a long-term project role.
Location: Bear, Delaware
Job Type: Contract
Compensation: $25 - $28 per hour
Work Hours: 12am to 9am
Education: No Degree Required
Responsibilities:
1. Rack and stack enterprise class technology (network, storage, and enterprise servers).
2. Run, trace, dress, and test copper and fiber cables from patch panel to device.
3. Familiarity with Patch Panels.
4. Commission and Decommission of Hardware.
5. Experience in Data Center.
Job Duties:
1. Physical / hands-on worker.
2. Undergo complex make-over.
3. Creative schedule enables extra days off compared to normal 5 days a week.
4. Opportunities for growth and advancement.
5. Unique workload each day (not the same thing every day).
Basic Responsibilities:
1. Troubleshooting and diagnostics of hardware/connectivity.
2. Must be able to perform component replacement (DIMMs, hard drives, power supplies).
3. Adhere to Change Control Processes.
Job Requirements:
Required Skills:
1. Previous experience working in a complex high availability data center environment providing layer one hardware installation, ongoing maintenance, problem identification, and incident resolution.
2. A strong working knowledge of data center processes and design.
3. Hands-on expertise of midrange systems in large scale (100+ servers) environments - IBM, HP, Oracle, & Dell server hardware.
4. Exceptional troubleshooting and problem resolution skills and the ability to document complex problem resolution summaries and repetitive tasks interfaces through an online ticketing system.
5. Understanding of switch/port configurations.
6. Critical thinking and decision making related to outage risk assessment.
7. Strong cable management skills and experience managing fiber & copper in a data center environment.
Desired Skills & Experience:
* Certifications: A+, Server+, or Network+.
* Technical writing and documentation skills are preferred.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
