Role Purpose:
We are seeking a highly motivated Staff Grade Occupational Therapist for a Child Disability Team in Waterford City. You will provide comprehensive Occupational therapy services to children and families in the region. The role includes assessments, diagnostics, interventions, clinical supervision, and ongoing service delivery to children with a range of disabilities. Services are provided to children aged 0-18 years with physical, sensory, learning disabilities, developmental delays, and autism.
Key Responsibilities:
Organise individual and group caseloads, including assessments, interventions, and diagnosis for children (0-18 years) with disabilities such as physical, sensory, and learning disabilities, developmental delays, and autism.
Provide quality, needs and evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to children with complex needs, their family members, carers and staff within the CDNT.
Provide Occupational Therapy services including assessment, intervention, programme planning, monitoring, consultation and/or onward referral services, as appropriate to service users within the CDNT.
Prioritise together with CDNM referrals and involvement with service users/centres in order to optimise the quality, efficacy and equity of the service provided.
To maintain a waiting list when necessary. Assess and recommend appropriate adaptive equipment taking into account client needs, staff/carer needs, environment and available resources. Also taking into account quality of such and value for money. Participate in Assessment of need (AON) process and conduct AON under the disability act.
Essential:
Bsc Degree in Occupational Therapy. Hold full CORU Registration. Experience working with children with disabilities, including physical, sensory, intellectual, and autism spectrum disorder.
Have the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team Familiar with assessing and supporting children with autism and other disabilities.
Experience in working with children with life-limiting conditions.
