About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Scientific Training Manager with a strong technical background in microbiology, chemistry, or quality. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in science/laboratory testing and experience in training, learning & development.
This role is suited to someone who started as an analyst or scientist and transitioned into training, or someone who moved from a science or quality role into training.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Program Development & Delivery
* Design and manage comprehensive training programs on laboratory techniques, quality assurance, compliance, and safety protocols.
* Create customized training solutions to meet external client needs.
* Assess training requirements and continuously refine programs based on feedback.
Internal Training
* Oversee the training and onboarding of analysts and quality assurance professionals.
* Ensure training content is regularly reviewed, updated, and optimized.
* Identify opportunities to enhance training through technology and innovation.
* Ensure trainers maintain certifications and competencies, offering continuous development.
Client Training Solutions
* Lead a cross-functional team to develop and implement new training modules.
* Develop a deep understanding of company services to support client engagement and business growth.
* Work closely with clients to tailor training programs to their needs.
* Act as a key point of contact for client training inquiries, building strong relationships.
Quality & Compliance
* Ensure training programs adhere to industry regulations (e.g., ISO, INAB, HPRA).
* Conduct regular audits of training materials and practices.
* Stay updated on industry advancements and integrate new methodologies.
Team Leadership & Development
* Manage and mentor a team of trainers, overseeing workload and performance evaluations.
* Conduct Train-the-Trainer sessions to maintain high-quality training standards.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Training Administration & Reporting
* Maintain comprehensive training records, tracking certifications and feedback.
* Generate reports on training performance and client feedback for leadership.
* Manage the training budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
Who You Are:
* Experienced in delivering lab-based training with a strong science background.
* Skilled in client engagement and comfortable in a commercial environment.
* Highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented.
* A problem-solver with a proactive and adaptable approach.
* Confident in managing multiple tasks and working in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
* A strong communicator and relationship-builder.
Experience Required:
* 5+ years in a training role, within life sciences or laboratory services.
* Experience designing, developing, and implementing training programs.
* A client-focused approach with excellent communication skills (experience in client interaction is a plus but not essential).
* GMP experience (not required but beneficial).
* A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field or equivalent experience demonstrating a strong scientific background.
* Knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and regulatory standards.
* Proven ability to develop and deliver training programs for both internal teams and clients.
