About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented L1 Helpdesk Engineer to join our IT Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our Windows-based systems users. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* End user support across a wide range of Microsoft tools and applications to resolve hardware and software issues.
* Install, configure, maintain and deploy Windows workstations and laptops.
* Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
* Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
* Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security measures to protect systems and data.
* Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
* Collaborate with other IT team members to plan and execute projects.
* Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
* Work with regional teams to provide a 24x5 follow the sun support model.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a Windows environment.
* Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11, Windows Servers).
* Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and practical networking.
* Experience with Azure Active Directory, Virtual desktops, and infrastructure/cloud computing.
* Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Experience:
* Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
* Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions.
* Familiarity with ITIL practices and methodologies.
