Main Purpose of Job:
To assist the Food and Beverage Manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the bar and restaurant
Main Responsibilities:
Bar and
Restaurant Operations:
Oversee the daily operations of the bar and restaurant.
Welcome and acknowledge all guests.
Ensure customer satisfaction at all times.
Prepare rosters and timesheets in the absence of the Food and Beverage Manager.
Conduct monthly beverage stocktakes and place orders as needed.
Maintain effective communication with the bar and restaurant team and other departments.
Ensure consistent presentation standards.
Follow cash handling procedures and use Micros for billing and payments.
Take and serve food and beverage orders, and manage table settings.
Customer Service:
Provide efficient and friendly service to guests.
Adhere to the Mespil Hotel key standards.
Handle guest requests and complaints professionally.
Maintain a positive attitude with guests and colleagues.
People Management:
Lead and supervise the bar and restaurant team.
Schedule and conduct continuous training for team members.
Address staff issues and complaints in collaboration with the Food and Beverage Manager and HR Manager.
Health and Safety:
Comply with hotel health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Report any hazards, accidents, incidents, and near misses.
Ensure team adherence to health, safety, and environmental practices.
Presentation and Grooming:
Wear the correct uniform and name badge.
Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.
Other Duties:
Attend relevant training courses.
Serve on hotel committees as required.
Perform other duties as directed by management.
Assist in other departments as necessary.
Contribute to sustainability efforts by reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, and reducing water consumption.
Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to handle complaints and resolve issues professionally.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems like Micros.
High standards of personal presentation and grooming.
Working Conditions:
This role requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
The position involves standing for extended periods and may require lifting and carrying items.
