Main Purpose of Job: To assist the Food and Beverage Manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the bar and restaurant.
Main Responsibilities:
Bar and Restaurant Operations:
* Oversee the daily operations of the bar and restaurant.
* Welcome and acknowledge all guests.
* Ensure customer satisfaction at all times.
* Prepare rosters and timesheets in the absence of the Food and Beverage Manager.
* Conduct monthly beverage stocktakes and place orders as needed.
* Maintain effective communication with the bar and restaurant team and other departments.
* Follow cash handling procedures and use Micros for billing and payments.
* Take and serve food and beverage orders, and manage table settings.
Customer Service:
* Provide efficient and friendly service to guests.
* Adhere to the Mespil Hotel key standards.
* Handle guest requests and complaints professionally.
* Maintain a positive attitude with guests and colleagues.
People Management:
* Lead and supervise the bar and restaurant team.
* Schedule and conduct continuous training for team members.
* Address staff issues and complaints in collaboration with the Food and Beverage Manager and HR Manager.
Health and Safety:
* Comply with hotel health, safety, and environmental procedures.
* Report any hazards, accidents, incidents, and near misses.
* Ensure team adherence to health, safety, and environmental practices.
Presentation and Grooming:
* Wear the correct uniform and name badge.
* Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.
Other Duties:
* Attend relevant training courses.
* Serve on hotel committees as required.
* Perform other duties as directed by management.
* Assist in other departments as necessary.
* Contribute to sustainability efforts by reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, and reducing water consumption.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Previous experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Ability to handle complaints and resolve issues professionally.
* Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems like Micros.
* High standards of personal presentation and grooming.
