Site Engineer Location: Cork City & County Company Profile: McGinty & OShea Ltd is a leading building and civil engineering contractor with an enviable track record of having successfully delivered a wide variety of high-profile, multimillion-euro projects in the Cork and Munster regions over many years. Such projects are delivered to highest standards in accordance with our ISO accredited management system and include: major streetscape and urban renewal projects; road construction including quality bus corridors, green routes, cycleways, utilities, and associated works; water, sewerage, drainage, and flood relief schemes; site infrastructure and development works; bridge repair and replacement projects; marine works, residential developments, contractor design and build contracts; value engineering, and renewable energy projects. We have immediate vacancies for motivated Site Engineers to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities: To assist the project team in the successful delivery of the project, ensuring compliance with the contract requirements, and all relevant health, safety, quality and environmental standards. Levelling and setting out of the works, utilising total station, GPS or equivalent. Record keeping of site activities, including diary, allocation sheets, outputs, photographs, as-built surveys etc. Assist with managing the site safety file, including method statements, risk assessments, site inductions, and toolbox talks etc. Quality control, testing and material submissions. Assist with temporary works coordination and traffic management. Labour/subcontractor coordination and management. Develop commercial awareness under quantity surveyors guidance. Assist with programme management (MS Project), progress reports, technical queries, and registers. Liaise in a professional manner with all project stakeholders to include client, consultants, regulatory bodies, utility companies and the general public etc. Requirements: Primary degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent professional qualification. Relevant main contractor experience. Organisational and problem-solving skills. Broad knowledge and experience of relevant industry standards, specifications, regulations, contract documents, and works methodologies. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Full clean Irish/EU driving licence. Ambition, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
