Job Description
This role oversees daily activities for shift management in the distribution centre, focusing on Inbound (receiving, put away/replenishment) or Outbound (pick, pack and ship) operations. The successful candidate will assist in staffing, training, and scheduling of the warehouse team while maintaining productivity goals and adhering to payroll planning.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide hands-on supervision to maximize staff productivity and accuracy, utilizing weekly benchmark reports, performance posting, and goal setting to measure results.
* Plan daily workloads to ensure same-day shipment of all customer orders.
* Support a customer-focused environment by driving standards with the warehouse team.
* Oversee daily processes to meet or exceed Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics.
* Provide direction and assistance to the warehouse team, resolving issues and clarifying job assignments.
* Meet departmental expectations to drive effective results.
* Assist in training, developing, and managing the warehouse team, monitoring individual performance through defined expectations, coaching, and mentoring.
* Maintain site compliance with Health & Safety Regulations.
* Ensure accurate and timely reporting of warehouse activities using Business Metrics reports and other required documentation.
* Comply with logistic and distribution center budgetary constraints, monitoring controllable expenses such as Overtime, Salary, Temporary help, Supplies, Facility Maintenance expense, etc.
* Perform other duties as necessitated by changes in job requirements.
Qualifications:
* Strong Warehouse knowledge and business acumen.
* 2-4 years focus in Distribution Centre operations, preferably with Store, Direct to Consumer, and Business to Business applications.
* Experience conducting metric-driven analysis and accountability.
* Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
* Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Operating Systems.
* Understanding of Process Improvement/Six Sigma processes is a plus.
* Proven leadership and people management skills are essential.
* Able to identify challenges and find optimal solutions to achieve success.
* Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred.
* Working knowledge of Distribution Centre processes and functions is required.
* Predominantly willing to work multiple shifts, as required by business need.
