Electrical Shift Technician

Overview of the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and safety conscious individual with an electrical background to join our critical utilities hard services maintenance and calibrations contract for one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies based in Dublin.
The Utilities Shift Technician is responsible for ensuring that all utilities equipment in their charge for the duration of the shift is available at all times, and all alarms and deviations are responded to and resolved or mitigated as efficiently as possible.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* Carry out all work on site in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and Veolia EHS rules and guidelines.
* Operate and monitor site critical utilities systems.
* Perform first-line and scheduled maintenance for utilities equipment.
* In conjunction with the shift team and shift lead, ensure all equipment deviations are responded to, reported, and escalated as per site procedures in the first instance.
* Liaise with subcontractors during planned service maintenance.
* Ensure that all work permits are reviewed and signed as area owner by the relevant shift members.
* Complete all related documentation in compliance with site and regulatory rules and guidelines.
* Deliver delegated engineering tasks in compliance with good engineering practice and all regulatory, statutory, and corporate requirements.
* Ensure training curricula is kept up to date with client requirements, i.e. SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), EWI's (Engineering Work Instructions), etc.
* Carry out investigations on utilities equipment, identify problem areas, and assist in improvement procedures.
* Liaise closely with the site utilities Engineering Support Team.
* In conjunction with the shift team and shift lead, ensure all issues over shift are communicated to the oncoming shift in a smooth and efficient manner.
* Assist maintenance departments with planned and unplanned shutdowns.
* Interact professionally and courteously with all personnel on site.
* Update stores spare lists as appropriate.
* Participate in utilities reliability programs.
* Participate in local reviews of maintenance performance data using published maintenance excellence KPI results, areas that will be reviewed and improvements sought: High levels of paperwork PM:CM ratio Maintenance man-hours per equipment/system MTBF MTTR Equipment reliability trends Any other activities as directed by the Veolia Contract Manager or Shift Lead.
Required Skills
* Senior Trades, City & Guilds or equivalent in electrical engineering.
* Minimum 2 years' experience post-qualification in industrial utilities, preferably in pharmaceuticals.
* Good initiative and pro-active attitude in approach to duties.
* Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks; must be detail orientated and self-motivated.
* Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to accurately document work performed.
* Essential: Maintenance and operational experience of pumps, HVAC Systems, Compressors, Boilers, steam systems, and ancillary services, (DHW skids), Chillers, Cooling Towers, Clean steam Boilers, Purified Water Systems, CIP systems, Low/Medium voltage Electrical Systems Building Management Systems (BMC/QBMS/MCS/ECS/EMS).
* Good understanding of Preventive Maintenance Systems.
* Experience with and understanding PLC and SCADA control systems.
* Work within a Computerized Maintenance Management Work Order system environment.
* Work within a documented Permit to Work System.
* Computer literate.
* Ability to read and understand P&ID's.
* Understanding of SOP's and GMP Engineering systems.
* Understanding of Basic Instrumentation.
* Must be able to demonstrate hands-on experience with detailed knowledge/skill in the following areas: Team Player.
* Attention to detail.
* Methodical & Analytical approach to work.
Desirable Skills
* Experience of working on a 24/7 production site.
* Experience dealing with shift teams.
* Ability to work in a team atmosphere, with the ability to recognize and facilitate conflicts through to resolution.
* Possess the highest level of attention to detail and expect this of others.
* Effectively communicate with all levels within Veolia and Client team as necessary.
* Approach problem-solving in a logical and systematic way.
* Have the courage of conviction to make decisions when required.
