The Opportunity: As the Finance Graduate, you will work under the supervision of the Management Accountant to gain experience and knowledge in key areas, including Management Accounting and Reporting, business partnering with relevant departments on financial matters, cross-system reconciliation with Financial Accounting and International Business teams, preparation of information for the Financial Consolidation pack, budgeting, and standard costing. You will be part of an inclusive team that works to develop innovative therapies for patients.
Key Activities for this role:
1. Product Costing: Assist in the Calculation and Release of Standard Costs: This task is foundational, as standard costs are essential for budgeting, pricing, and financial reporting. Accurate standard costs help in setting benchmarks for performance evaluation.
2. Product Costing: Assist in the Preparation of Monthly Manufacturing Variance Analysis: This task is critical for monitoring and controlling costs. By analyzing variances between standard and actual costs, you can identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions to enhance operational efficiency.
3. Budgeting & Forecasting: Provide support in the preparation of Expense Budgets/Forecasts in conjunction with business partners, including the preparation of product costs and stock information for inclusion in the AICL Strategic Plan, annual budget, and interim forecasts. Additionally, assist in the review of Budgeted Hours versus Shift/Overtime plans and prepare budget and forecast reporting packs.
4. Inventory Accounting: Direct Impact on Financial Statements: These tasks directly influence the accuracy and reliability of key financial statements, which are essential for decision-making, investor relations, and regulatory compliance.
5. Risk Mitigation: Accurate inventory valuation and regular stock counts help mitigate risks associated with inventory obsolescence, shrinkage, and potential financial misstatements.
6. Assist in the preparation of financial information for internal and external auditors.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
1. Excellent Excel skills, proficient in Word & PowerPoint.
2. Pharma sector experience.
Education/Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles.
Additional Information:
1. This is a permanent, full-time role.
2. Location: Irish office, Kerry plant.
3. This position is field-based in Kerry plant/Ireland and 100% travel is expected in line with your role. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
