The EDW Data Engineers will work with our agile delivery teams, engineering high quality solutions on our on-prem Teradata Enterprise Data Warehouse platform. This is an exciting time for Data Engineering in BOI as we progress implementing our cloud strategy, adjusting from the traditional on-prem data landscape to a modern cloud-based data lake and warehouse platform, taking advantage of AI opportunities and transitioning workloads to that new cloud Enterprise Data Lake platform. You will gain experience building and maintaining data pipeline solutions on our Teradata EDW platform and be instrumental in driving a future transition to a cloud-based data warehousing platform. In this Role, you will Provide technical leadership and guidance to other Data engineers Take the lead in enabling the builds of complex data flows and process's demonstrating our on-prem Teradata Enterprise Data Warehouse. Solve complex technical problems and provide creative solutions from your experience or through a rational problem-solving process. Play a crucial role in defining engineering standards and processes, and drive continuous improvements. What Will Make You Stand Out We are seeking a senior engineer with enthusiasm and a growth mentality who prioritises collaboration with others. You are proactive to achieve the necessary outcome while improving processes, people, and tooling along the way! You have a proven track record as a Data Engineer in the Enterprise Data Warehouse domain with a preference for Teradata. You have deep technical knowledge of ETL / ELT data pipelines, Stored Procedures & Data Lake. You have a deep understanding and hands on experience in Data warehouse applications. Further Technical Experience Skills Required: Proficiency in SQL (DDL & DML), Python. Strong knowledge of the Teradata Platform, GCFR, and stored procedures. Knowledge of data flow integrations using Informatica. Knowledge of Kimball and Inmon data warehousing concepts. Strong experience in building and managing different data load patterns i.e. CDC, API and streaming data. Expertise in building / supporting platforms to enable processing of large datasets, streaming data, and unstructured data. Workflow orchestration skills using Ctrl-M. Familiar with AI concepts and willingness to explore LLM's, Generative AI and Machine Learning (desirable) DataOps expertise including Bitbucket, Jenkins Experience in Scrum/Kanban, CI/CD, DevOps, SAFe delivery methodologies. Experience with using Jira and Confluence Experience with the following is desirable for this role Teradata certification. Experience with migrating on-prem data warehouses to the cloud, preferably AWS. Experience with other Cloud data platforms like Cloudera, Databricks, Redshift, Snowflake and Synapse. Experience using modern IDE, debugging and linting tooling. Demonstrated ability of identifying and introducing process optimizations Cloud Technologies, and Architecture, preferably AWS (Amazon Web Services). (desirable) Essential Qualifications BSc or MSc or equivalent experience in Engineering & Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Data Engineering. We sit within the Group Data & Analytics Office which is the core team for all things data in the bank.
