We are currently recruiting a skilled Legal Secretary to provide essential support to a dynamic Healthcare Defence Litigation team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous legal secretarial experience, particularly in defence litigation or medical negligence, to join a respected legal environment.
Requirements/Skills:
* Previous experience in defence litigation and/or medical negligence.
* Proven experience in a similar legal secretarial role within a professional services environment.
* Strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and flexibility to support the team effectively.
* Ability to maintain a positive attitude, even during periods of increased workload.
* Professional demeanor, with the ability to represent the firm in all interactions.
* Ability to collaborate with colleagues and support other secretaries and fee earners when required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the filing and organisation of documents, including electronic filing.
* Regularly update and consult with fee earners regarding their schedules, appointments, and bookings.
* Make appointments, arrange meetings and travel, and maintain an up-to-date diary for fee earners.
* Handle general office administrative duties, including managing post, photocopying, and faxing.
* Represent the team professionally in all communications, including phone, email, and in person.
* Produce high-quality legal documentation, adhering to the firm’s style guidelines.
* Proofread documents, ensuring consistency in spelling, grammar, and formatting.
* Manage confidential document production in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Assist with billing, including opening new client matters, preparing narratives, verifying information before submission, and supporting the file-closing process.
* Dictaphone typing as needed.
