We are seeking a skilled and motivated Building Services Advisor with expertise in energy-efficient design & install to join a dynamic Energy Services team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects for both public and private sector clients in Ireland.
The successful candidate must be based in Ireland. (No relocation or work permit is on offer) They will play a key role in delivering innovative energy solutions, managing projects from inception to completion, and contributing to the growth of energy-efficient practices. This position will require flexibility with working hours and will involve a combination of site and office-based work, primarily operating out of Dublin.
Key Responsibilities
* Design mechanical and electrical systems for offices and schools, including new builds and refurbishment projects.
* Assess the energy efficiency and suitability of existing designs.
* Appoint and manage professionals such as architects, engineering consultants, and quantity surveyors.
* Manage contractors and suppliers, including issuing purchase orders and maintaining project cost files for monthly reporting.
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients and represent the company at meetings.
* Develop and execute a communication plan to ensure effective stakeholder management.
* Chair regular progress review meetings, track actions, and issue project updates.
* Provide regular updates to clients and the Head of Energy Services regarding costs, progress, risks, and issues.
* Coordinate contractors and suppliers on-site, ensuring adherence to safety and housekeeping standards.
* Oversee snagging and ensure proper sign-off upon project completion.
* Ensure all documentation, such as commissioning reports and O&M manuals, is completed at project close.
* Develop and implement project plans and programs from start to finish.
* Liaise with client staff on technical and management matters.
* Foster strong working relationships within the team to identify and secure future project opportunities.
* Actively seek new energy-related project opportunities.
Candidate Requirements
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Building Services is essential.
* Further qualifications and/or experience in Energy Management are highly desirable.
* 5–10 years of experience in a similar role, such as a designer, consultant, or project engineer within building services consultancy or contracting.
* Experience in construction-stage projects, including office refurbishments and educational facilities.
* Technical knowledge in HVAC, Building Management Systems, and electrical/lighting systems.
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements and sustainable technology solutions.
* Familiarity with the Facilities Management sector.
* Proficiency in MS Project, MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, and other relevant software.
* Demonstrated ability to manage professionals, suppliers, and contractors effectively.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to manage client expectations.
* Self-motivated and capable of achieving regular targets independently.
* Flexibility to travel and hold a full Irish Driving Licence.
