Overview / Purpose of the Role The Head of Consumer Sales and Marketing will be responsible for developing and implementing commercial policies to enhance existing business operations and identify new market opportunities.
The role is focused on ensuring the effective development and promotion of UD Consumer, driving the achievement of business objectives such as managing revenue generation and direct cost budgets, enhancing customer and Principal experiences, and delivering the expected monthly profit.
This position requires strong coordination across various functions, including Finance, HR, Customer Service, Procurement, IT, Operations, and the full sales and marketing teams, with a focus on meeting specific KPI targets.
The role is both office and field based, office location is Citywest with national and international travel required for effective execution of responsibilities.

The individual should demonstrate drive, excellent relationship management, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with KPI achievement and operational success.
Key Responsibilities Strategically develop strategic Sales & Marketing plans for business growth over 3 to 5 -year periods.
Collaboratively work with Principles, direct reports, and wider Sales & Marketing teams to create brand strategies and ensure brand guidelines are followed in all commercial activities.
Proactively identify new business opportunities and negotiate contracts and partnerships.
Effectively recruit, train, manage, appraise, and motivate the Sales & Marketing team.
Closely work with Operations, Procurement, IT, Customer Services, Telesales, and Finance to ensure KPIs are set and achieved, maintaining excellent service levels.
Diligently direct and control finances to meet financial targets, promote effective budgeting, and ensure cost control within the area of responsibility.
Assume full responsibility for P&L, in collaboration with the Consumer Division Director.
Consistently liaise with all management levels within Operations to ensure smooth coordination.
Oversee purchasing, working capital, and cash flow across all business areas of responsibility.
Collaborate with Finance (AR/AP, Reclaims, etc.)
to ensure compliance with Principal requirements.
Lead the development and implementation of the Sales & Marketing strategy to drive UD Consumer's growth.
Negotiate and implement business plans with Key Principals, aligning with both UD Consumer's and Principals' business objectives.

Principal Experience:
Ensure the management of all business activities professionally, cost-effectively, and on time.
Develop and enforce commercial policies and procedures to promote UD Consumer and achieve business objectives.
Conduct market research to explore new and existing markets, aligning with UD Consumer's strategy and broader United Drug objectives.
Collaborate with colleagues within the organization to bring creative solutions to challenges in the role.
Continuously enhance and evaluate business functions, including the recruitment, development, and motivation of management and staff teams.
Key Experience / Skills / Education The successful candidate will have at least 10 years sales & marketing management experience gained in the FMCG, retail pharmacy, grocery, or pharmaceutical areas involving large-scale commercial operations.
Proven track record of driving sales and building strong relationships.
A Masters in a relevant field (e.g., business, marketing, finance) with significant experience in managing large-scale commercial activities at both national and international levels is preferable Strong understanding of distribution, wholesaling, and sales within the Irish Consumer market.
