Job Description:
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for the right candidate to be involved in a high-tech company which will involve a wide range of varied technologies within the metal fabrication industry in Ireland. There is flexibility as to where in Ireland the successful candidate for this role will be based.
Key Duties:
1. Work with colleagues to build up knowledge of machines sold by the company.
2. Install, service, maintain and repair equipment sold or serviced by the company, primarily Laser or Punch equipment, but also other products sold and supported by the company.
3. Travel to customer sites throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland, with scheduling to keep engineers within their local region where possible.
4. Travel abroad may also be required for training purposes and in exceptional occasions for customer service work.
5. Strive for a competent and professional response to customer service demands.
6. Achieve productivity targets as defined by the Service Manager.
7. Complete and submit administrative work promptly on a daily/weekly basis, including job reports, part returns notes, overtime sheets, and expenses.
8. Acquire a complete working knowledge of equipment sold by the company and continue your own professional development.
9. Co-ordinate and co-operate with other staff members to ensure the smooth and professional operation of the Service Division.
10. Observe customers' non-disclosure requirements where they exist.
11. Observe the company’s safety procedures and keep safety as a priority in all work activities, including driving company vehicles during the course of your work.
12. Observe customer safety instructions while at customer premises.
13. Strive for a thoughtful and professional response to customer service demands.
Skills Required:
1. Knowledge and/or experience working on CNC Laser or Punching machines.
2. Strong IT skills – Microsoft suite and ability to learn new IT platforms.
3. Written and oral use of English.
4. Good technical knowledge background, and keen interest to learn new technologies.
5. Flexibility to travel during the year to customer sites in Ireland and occasionally for training at OEM suppliers.
