As a Senior .NET Software Engineer at Optum, within the Optum Advisory Services group, you will be a key hands-on contributor within a team of talented software engineers. You will be a collaborative self-starter who is passionate about design, that can take ownership and drive results. This role will involve working with a distributed, global team with multiple stakeholders. This role is within the StepWise Product development team within the wider Optum Advisory Services group. The StepWise software is a cloud based platform built using the latest .NET frameworks, Kafka, MongoDB and ElasticSearch. It is currently deployed to Azure and on premises. Primary Responsibilities of the Senior Software Engineer:
• Design and implement product features in collaboration with business and other stakeholders • Design reusable components, frameworks and libraries • Work very closely with the development team, product owners and other stakeholder• Participate in an Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases through Sprints • Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required

Required Qualifications of the Senior Software Engineer:
• Strong object oriented programming and design skills• Strong Software Engineering experience using the full .NET Stack and .NET Core or later in particular • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment • Strong desire to learn about new trends and technologies • Passionate about good design and software development in general
Preferred Qualifications of the Senior Software Engineeer:
• Good knowledge of formal architectures, design patterns and best practices, including the design, development and deployment of Microservice architectures and service oriented architectures in general• Experience working in Azure cloud platforms (Azure, Azure API Gateway, Azure Kubernetes Services) • Experience in automating build processes, application deployments and continuous integration systems, with tools such as: Jenkins, GitHub,• Containerization, SonarQube • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD)• Working knowledge of remote/web based APIs (especially gRPC)• Experience delivering software using an Agile/Scrum methodology • Experience with Kafka• Experience with ElasticSearch (ELK) Stack• Experience with SQL, relational and Document Database. Ideally with SQL Server and MongoDB.• Experience with using IIS• Some experience with JavaScript and ASP.NET or other front-end frameworks
