AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS. Within AWS UC, those in Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) roles engage with AWS customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
Annapurna Labs, as part of AWS, is looking for a HW Lead Engineer to help define, shape, and integrate solutions for the next generation of our cloud platforms.
As a K2 HW Lead Engineer in the K2 HW team you will be responsible for defining Annapurna Labs’ Network Interface Card (NIC) hardware, following the development and validation of our NIC, and bringing the NIC to mass production. You’ll provide leadership in new technologies of the HW interfaces, bringing them to large-scale deployment, in a continuous effort to deliver a world-class customer experience. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and you’ll work with technical experts, senior leaders, and multiple areas of technology.
Key job responsibilities
1. Define and provide feedback to the design of the K2 Smart Network Interface Card.
2. Work with design partners and manufacturing sites, to enable healthy mass production of the K2 card.
3. Review, identify, and qualify second-source electrical components, to enable continuity of supply.
4. Analyze and debug design/manufacturing/integration issues.
5. Continuously assess process capabilities and innovate to simplify processes, reduce costs, and shorten the time cycle of K2 cards’ development and manufacturing.
6. Collaborate with members of cross-functional teams, to gain knowledge and improve product design, processes, and quality.
7. Work with customers, to optimize the entire value stream and put together joint processes that will lead to improved time cycle and lower costs.
8. Willing to travel abroad one or two times a year, for a week at a time.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 10 years' experience leading hardware products from design to mass production: life cycle, components selection, schematics, layout, thermal, mechanical design, review, hardware-software interfaces, and production testing.
- Experience in high-speed board design and practical hardware lab.
- Design/lab experience with at least at one of the following interfaces: DDR4/5, PCIe Gen3/4/5, 100/25/10GbE; Practical experience with high-speed lab equipment.
- Practical experience writing scripts.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with mass production products.
- Experience with Networking / Storage / Linux.
- Knowledge and understanding of server architecture and design.
- Experience with CPLD/FPGA coding and simulation.
- Technical leadership, Matrix work with multiple teams.
