Role Overview:
We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic, fast-paced team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless integration of our complex, high-precision tooling with customer machinery. The successful candidate will lead on-site project assessments, providing technical expertise and representing the Prodieco brand with professionalism. This position requires frequent international travel to customer sites, where you will conduct machine and tooling audits, assess requirements, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver Right First-Time designs.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
* Conduct on-site measurement and scanning of customer tooling and blister machines.
* Gather and analyse critical technical data, ensuring all required information is collected.
* Assess whether agreed sales orders align with customer needs and specifications.
* Prepare detailed field checklists in advance of visits.
* Communicate accurate and complete design data, ensuring seamless handover to the design team.
* Continuously refine on-site processes to enhance efficiency.
* Analyse field findings to create template data, eliminating any gaps before the design phase begins.
* Provide technical reviews of completed toolsets within machine models as required.
* Support customer complaint investigations, ensuring timely resolution of corrective actions.
* Develop expertise in Faro Arm metrology and train design team members.
* Document processes and write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Provide technical support to Sales and Customer Services teams.
* Offer commercial insights from field visits to drive business growth and innovation.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
* Complete and communicate project assessments on time to all stakeholders.
Required Competencies & Qualifications:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent extensive experience in machine part modelling).
* Expertise in metrology and measuring equipment (Faro Arm experience preferred).
* SolidWorks proficiency for technical design and modelling.
* Systematic, logical thinker with a strong focus on accuracy.
* Previous experience in a consultative engineering role, including technical report writing.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* High flexibility for international travel (primarily Monday–Friday, every two weeks).
* Commercial awareness and ability to translate technical insights into business opportunities.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* High levels of initiative, attention to detail, and professionalism.
