Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced, strategic, and results-driven Senior Marketing & Media Manager to lead and elevate our social media presence within the esports and gaming space. This is a unique opportunity to take charge of shaping and executing a dynamic social media strategy for a fast-growing esports organisation.
As Senior Marketing & Media Manager, you will drive the development of creative campaigns, foster community engagement, and ensure alignment with broader organisational goals. This role requires a seasoned professional who can balance high-level strategy with hands-on execution, bringing deep expertise in content creation, analytics, and community building to the table.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy Development
1. Design and implement a forward-thinking social media strategy that drives brand growth, audience engagement, and measurable results.
2. Progress social media objectives in line with the organisation’s overall goals, ensuring alignment with marketing, sponsorship, and brand activations.
Leadership and Team Collaboration
1. Manage and mentor junior team members, fostering their growth and ensuring the delivery of high-quality social media content.
2. Act as the primary liaison between the social media team and other departments, such as creative, marketing, and sponsorship.
High-Impact Content Creation
1. Coordinate the creation of high-quality, innovative content across platforms including Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
2. Develop and oversee photography, video editing, graphic design, and copywriting to ensure all content meets brand standards and objectives.
Advanced Analytics and Insights
1. Lead the tracking and analysis of social media performance metrics, delivering in-depth reports with actionable insights to improve engagement and ROI.
2. Leverage analytics tools to identify trends and opportunities for growth, refining strategies based on data-driven insights.
Community Engagement and Growth
1. Build and nurture an engaged, loyal online community by fostering conversations, responding to comments, and addressing feedback professionally and effectively.
2. Collaborate with influencers and key community figures to amplify reach and impact.
Innovation and Trend Adaptation
1. Proactive with emerging social media trends, platform updates, and audience behaviors, ensuring the organisation remains a leader in digital innovation.
2. Propose and implement creative ways to integrate new trends into campaigns and activations.
Campaign Execution and Brand Integration
1. Lead the planning and execution of multi-platform social media campaigns, including sponsorship activations, influencer partnerships, and brand collaborations.
2. Ensure consistent branding across all social media touchpoints, working closely with the internal team and partners to enhance activation value.
Partnership Deliverables
1. Collaborate across the team to develop innovative, deliverable-aligned social media strategies for key partners.
2. Identify opportunities for additional revenue streams through social media channels.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential:
1. Proven experience (3-5 years) managing social media for brands, ideally within esports, gaming, or a related industry.
2. Deep understanding of social media platforms (including TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube) and management tools (e.g., Sprout, Buffer, Hootsuite).
3. Strong expertise in analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, native platform analytics) and the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
4. Advanced skills in photo/video editing software (Adobe Creative Suite) and design tools.
5. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of creating high-performing content.
6. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
7. A passion for esports, gaming, and digital culture, with knowledge of key trends, platforms, and community behaviors.
Desirable:
1. Experience managing social media sponsorship activations and working with brands to deliver impactful campaigns.
2. Knowledge of influencer marketing and previous collaborations with creators or esports figures.
3. Degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
