Job Description:
Position Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician (Plumber / Fitter / Mechanical Bias)
Location: Client Site - Celbridge
Reporting to: Site Manager
Overall Purpose of the Job:
To engage in facilities maintenance & repair and related support activities. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient execution of planned and unplanned maintenance of plant and utilities, in compliance with site EHS and quality standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To carry out a range of technical duties covering mechanical and general building fabric maintenance in a laboratory-type environment. Duties will occasionally consist of general operative-type tasks such as furniture moving.
2. To carry out planned preventative maintenance on a wide range of equipment: AHU’s, pumps, boilers, chillers, water systems, generators, etc.
3. Replace bearings & mechanical seals.
4. Proactively identify and remedy equipment maintenance issues to maximise equipment uptime.
5. Liaise with the helpdesk/your Engineering Manager and respond to all non-technical and technical queries in a timely manner to ensure conformance with the company’s contractual obligations.
6. Assist subcontractors as required.
7. Assist in the installation of new plant and equipment.
8. Assist with queries regarding quotations and purchasing.
9. Interact with and work via CAFM (Computer Aided Facility Management) software and maintain appropriate records.
10. Source spare parts as required to ensure minimum stock levels are maintained.
11. Comply with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality legislative requirements.
12. Contribute to targets related to Safety, Quality, Compliance and Continuous Improvement.
13. Take on adhoc projects from time to time. Join the 24/7 on-call rota – approx. 1 week in 8.
14. Work a day/evening shift that alternates weekly. The current pattern is Monday-Friday: 0600-1400 and 1300-2100 (1100-1900 on Fridays). This may be subject to minor changes where operational requirements exist.

12. Physically fit – the role can be demanding at times.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Senior Trades/Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline: Mechanical, Fitter, Plumber, etc.
2. Solid experience in utilities & plant maintenance in an industrial, facilities or similar environment.
3. At least 5-10 years of relevant, broad-based experience.
4. Comfortable when interfacing with computers, phone apps, HMI’s, BMS, etc.
5. Good English: conversational & technical, written & spoken.
6. Garda Vetting and provision of personal DNA sample (for exclusion purposes in cross-contamination instances) is a requirement of employment.
