Assistant Project Manager (Public Sector)
We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Project Manager to join our client's Capital & Estates Department in Swords. This is a 1-year fixed term role with opportunities for extensions.
This role provides professional, technical, project management, property, energy, sustainability, fire and safety, and related services in respect of the procurement, development, operation, and maintenance of the client's physical infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in preparing comprehensive briefs for major and minor capital projects.
* Supervise staff and contractors in implementing agreed programs.
* Prepare budgets for Minor & Major Capital work programs and ensure projects are within agreed budgets.
* Comply with regulatory requirements, including permissions, licenses, certificates, and approvals.
* Evaluate environmental infrastructural risk issues and develop procedures to manage risks.
* Assess energy efficiency standards in premises in accordance with current standards and regulations.
Requirements:
* Hold a level 8 or higher qualification in Architecture, Engineering, or Surveying from Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) or a relevant institute.
* Alternatively, have full membership of a relevant profession, such as the Society of Chartered Surveyors in Ireland, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Engineers Ireland, or Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland.
Knowledge and Experience:
* A high level of expertise and experience in construction of buildings and building services is desirable.
* Candidates should have a comprehensive understanding of maintenance requirements.
* Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislations is essential.
* Excellent leadership and teamwork skills are required.
* The ability to communicate effectively with the team and facilitate training for team members is crucial.
