Role Overview
We seek a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team at our head office in Ballyclare.
This full-time role requires 37.5 hours per week with flexibility to accommodate deadlines when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the Accounts Payable function, including invoice processing, supplier payments, and statement reconciliation.
* Manage internal invoicing and allocate costs across departments.
* Review and process employee expenses.
* Compile monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support decision-making.
* Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments.
* Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register.
* Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with regulatory requirements.
* Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
* Perform stock reconciliations and contribute to stock control procedures.
* Carry out monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Performance Expectations
* Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement.
* Provide timely and accurate financial insights to aid business decisions.
* Address potential financial discrepancies and escalate concerns appropriately.
Essential Requirements
* Part-qualified or fully qualified in a relevant accounting qualification (e.g. IATI, CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
* Experience in a finance role with exposure to key responsibilities listed above.
* Strong IT skills, particularly advanced Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas).
* Familiarity with accounting software packages.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise across departments.
* A proactive and adaptable approach to work, with a keen eye for detail.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
