Health & Safey Officer / Part Time / Dublin 24 Our client is a very successful Irish owned mechanical services company seeking a Health & Safety Officer on a part time basis (20 hours). Salary: €45K - €50K pro rata. The Role: Work closely with the in-house team and on-site to proactively identify and mitigate health and safety risks, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. Responsibilities: Foster a strong workplace health and safety culture ensuring ongoing communication with managers, safety representatives, and employees. Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective measures to mitigate risks and improve safety. Participate in site H&S meetings with management and operational teams, lead risk reviews, and oversee incident investigations and reporting. Identify and schedule mandatory and ongoing safety training, ensuring timely delivery. Create and share health and safety materials, such as toolbox talks and safety alerts, to drive continuous improvement. Organize and lead safety campaigns to promote a strong safety culture across the business. Maintain training records and matrices to ensure accurate documentation. Implement the H&S management system, coaching and guiding teams at all levels to meet regulatory, statutory, and internal health & safety requirements. Regularly review and update H&S policies, ensuring all employees are informed and engaged. Oversee emergency procedures including fire safety. Investigate, document, and report accidents, incidents, and near-misses promptly, ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions. Regularly review and update Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures, and the Safety Statement. Maintain and manage all necessary Health & Safety documentation for internal activities, inspections, and compliance purposes. Monitor and ensure adherence to safety procedures and standards across all operations. Track and report on key H&S metrics, incidents, non-compliances, and improvement initiatives. The Candidate: A degree in Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field. A Team player with ability to work collaboratively and engage with various internal and external stakeholders Strong work ethic with a positive can do attitude Have a genuine drive to improve safety standards and a proven track record of making a real impact. Experience of influencing stakeholders on Health and Safety related issues. Have a clear understanding of the legislative framework for Health and Safety and its practical application. Strong understanding of safety management systems and incident investigation techniques. Qualifications A recognised qualification in Occupational Health and Safety. Full clean Irish drivers licence Experience Minimum of 3 years previous experience in an Occupational Health and Safety Officer role essential Background in engineering or construction preferable Skills: Min 3 years exp 3rd level degree Qualification see spec Benefits: Salary is pro rata
