We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented L1 helpdesk Engineer to join our IT Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our Windows-based systems users. The role offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* End user support across a wide range of Microsoft tools and applications to resolve hardware and software issues
* Install, configure, maintain and deploy Windows workstations and Laptops
* Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups
* Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls
* Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security measures to protect systems and data
* Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
* Collaborate with other IT team members to plan and execute projects
* Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability
* Work with the regional teams to provide a 24*5 follow the sun support model
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field or equivalent practical experience
* 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a Windows environment
* Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11, Windows Servers)
* Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and practical networking
* Experience with Azure Active Director, Virtual desktops and infrastructure / cloud computing
* Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Experience:
* Degree or equivalent experience
* Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
* Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions
* Familiarity with ITIL practices and methodologies
