Key Responsibilities:
1. Guide, train, and mentor Fund Accountants, set goals, and monitor performance.
2. Review cash, position, and market value reconciliations.
3. Resolve break items on reconciliations promptly.
4. Review fund pricing and corporate actions.
5. Review profit and loss reports for reasonableness and fund trial balance.
6. Review income and expense accruals, including fee calculations and trading accruals.
7. Review profit allocations to fund investors.
8. Ensure compliance with checklists, procedures, and controls.
9. Liaise with internal service departments to resolve fund issues.
10. Escalate fund accounting issues and aged items to the Fund Accounting Manager.
11. Respond to client queries promptly and efficiently.
12. Assist in the audit process, including the preparation of fund financial statements.
13. Consistently meet pre-agreed internal and external deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience:
14. 3 years of experience in hedge funds.
15. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Legal, or Business (minimum 2.2 honors degree).
16. Actively pursuing or intending to pursue a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA) is an advantage but not required.
17. Proficient in IT and strong systems, product, and process knowledge.
18. Excellent interpersonal skills.
19. Reliable, dependable, and approachable.
20. Ability to positively influence team morale and demonstrate leadership skills.
21. Take ownership of designated tasks.
