In this role, you will play a key part in supporting existing products and overseeing the introduction of new products at our contract manufacturers. You will be responsible for analysing and resolving manufacturing issues to ensure smooth production processes. Our products are designed to meet comprehensive regulatory approvals, so your selection of electronic components and feature sets must adhere to these standards.What You’ll Do:In addition to the above, you’ll focus on the following: You will support the introduction of new products into manufacturing, ensuring the Bill of Materials complies with RoHS, REACH, UL, and EN standards, while managing test procedures, assembly instructions, test fixture designs, validation of golden samples, and approval of the manufacturing line.You will assist in updating existing products for manufacturing to maintain efficiency and compliance with current standards.You will help facilitate the relocation of existing products to new manufacturing locations, ensuring a smooth transition.You will address manufacturing maintenance issues by managing tasks through a prioritized Agile Kanban process, including handling component end-of-life, increased failure rates, and other production challenges.You will specify alternative components as needed, whether due to component end-of-life, cost-reduction initiatives, or compliance requirements.You will collaborate with Design Engineers to ensure effective Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) practices, while also designing test fixtures and schematics to enhance testing and production processes.You will conduct supplier process audits globally to ensure adherence to approval standards, such as UL294, EN50131, and EN50130-4.You will work cross-functionally to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, analyse and resolve field-reported hardware issues, support QA with escalations or safety concerns, and coordinate with the Supply Chain team to avoid supply disruptions.What You'll Need to be Successful:Senior Electronic Engineer with a minimum of 5 years’ post-graduate experience and a degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering.Experience in product release to manufacturing, including transferring builds, ramp-ups, and conducting First Article Inspections on new manufacturing lines.Proficient in troubleshooting manufacturing build issues, including test fixtures and production lines, and resolving customer product escalations with QA teams.Skilled in fault-finding for analogue and digital solutions and managing Bill of Materials, including identifying alternatives and managing ECO releases.Experienced in sourcing alternatives for obsolete electronic components and knowledgeable about environmental design aspects like RoHS, REACH, CMRT, and TSCA.Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is beneficial, alongside strong collaboration and communication skills.Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and time management abilities.Willingness to travel periodically to contract manufacturer sites.Why Acre?Joining acre isn't just a job; it's an invitation to a dynamic, forward-thinking community.
