Job Title: Quality Control Technician
Job Overview
The Quality Control Technician will perform in-house quality control testing on raw materials, samples, and finished products with minimal supervision. The technician will receive guidance from Quality Control Chemists and management. They will collaborate with internal teams such as Production, Purchasing, and lab personnel to ensure resources and procedures are aligned.
It is essential to maintain a positive and professional work environment, fostering strong relationships with vendors, customers, colleagues, and supervisors while striving to meet and improve performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out various functions and tasks within the Laboratory as required.
* Select and prepare standards for comparison with production samples.
* Assess incoming raw material samples for compliance with specifications.
* Collect, review, and file Certificates of Analysis for all raw materials.
* Document and ensure compliance with HACCP CCP and OPRP requirements.
* Prepare samples for external testing when necessary.
* Organize, store, clean, and dispose of QC retained samples appropriately.
* Regularly clean and calibrate all QC lab instruments.
* Identify and report any issues within the QC process and suggest possible solutions.
* Clean all glassware, maintain a tidy working area, and ensure the lab has sufficient inventory of necessary supplies.
* Implement and improve QC procedures for continuous department development. Maintain precise records of all activities.
* Perform routine tests on products, including Brix, pH, turbidity, and others.
* Comply with GMPs, GLPs, safety protocols, and specified test methods.
Qualifications
* A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
* Minimum one year within a testing role in food or Pharma.
* Proficiency in computer software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Full eligibility to work in Ireland.
