Reporting to the Senior Management Team, the main objective of this role is to be a key contributor to the future development of stock & logistics function of the business.
The role is effectively split between stock and logistics, although these functions are very closely intertwined.
This position will suit someone who is organised, systematic and methodical in their thinking.
Someone who has an interest in commercial business and who is good at problem solving with excellent communication skills.
This role will involve interacting with multiple departments (internally and externally) and senior leaders in the business, so it is imperative that this person is a strong communicator with an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Responsibilities: Stock Ensuring that company stakeholders (internal & external) are updated regularly regarding accurate stock locations & balances, and also maximizing efficiency Contacting stores on a daily basis to obtain requisite information regarding drawings and balances in order to ensure real-time stock information is available on system to traders at all times Dealing with internal/external queries regarding stock balances Processing stock invoices on a daily basis in addition to monthly overhead invoice processing Logistics (Transport) Daily/weekly haulage booking process by contacting intake operators to organize deliveries for the following day/week Processing bi-monthly invoices and liaising directly with haulage suppliers with regard to any queries/discrepancies Processing haulage recharges to customers where haulage was arranged but not previously contracted General Commercial:Negotiating the most competitive haulage rates on an ongoing basis and managing relationship with customers & suppliers System Development:Contributing to the ongoing development of stock and haulage management systems and implementation of improvements/efficiencies as identified by SMT, wider-team and in-house/external software developer(s) Process Improvements:Providing support, co-ordination & advice to operational areas in relation to best practice on stock and haulage Compliance:Regularly monitors and evaluates activities to identify potential risk and issues of non-compliance Cross-functional team:Working closely with the trade, finance, and shipping execution & quality teams to ensure customers always have access to product as they require.
Candidate Requirements: Graduate with a 2.1 or greater in technical subject/discipline is desirable but not essential 2-5 years of experience in stock/ logistics/ operations/ supply chain / administration Strong proficiency MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint etc.).
