Support & Advocacy Worker (New Communities)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Support & Advocacy Worker to join our Migrant Inclusion Team. The successful candidate will provide supports, advocacy, and inclusion opportunities to newly arrived migrant groups in South County Dublin.

The Position
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and empathy. The successful candidate will work as part of the Migrant Inclusion team to provide one-to-one support and advocacy services to migrant individuals, including:
* Casework: Provide individualized support and advocacy services to migrant individuals, coordinating with local and national providers to meet their needs.
* Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and needs of clients across various psychosocial, medical, financial, and legal services.
* Service Mapping: Regularly update service mapping for local and national providers of first-line, lifeline, and specialized services for migrant groups.
* Information Development: Develop accessible tools and information for new arrivals to navigate the Irish system, including leaflets, videos, social media content, and guidebooks.
* Group Work: Deliver information sessions, workshops, and training programs to empower clients to self-advocate and access services.
* Evaluation: Continuously monitor and evaluate project outcomes, adapting as required.
* Outreach: Host weekly clinics and outreach to local direct provision centers to engage and support clients.
Person Specification
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Qualifications: A relevant third-level qualification in social sciences, social care, psychology, youth work, social work, community development, or similar.
* Experience: A minimum of two years' experience in a similar position, preferably working with migrants, refugees, or asylum seekers.
* Knowledge: Strong knowledge of issues facing asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants in Ireland, particularly those at risk of social exclusion, poverty, and discrimination.
* Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
