About the Role:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our team to work on U.K. projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, design, procurement, and construction administration of water infrastructure projects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Below represents the core responsibilities of this role; this is by no means an exhaustive list:
1. Preparation of Feasibility, Route and Site Selections, and Concept Design Reports.
2. Preparation of Detailed Designs including detailed design drawings, calculations, and reports.
3. Preparing Technical Specifications and Contract Documents for main works and investigation contracts.
4. Undertaking and leading Tender Evaluation and Procurement processes.
5. Preparation of all documentation required for statutory approvals such as planning permissions and acquiring of land acquisition & wayleaves.
6. Construction stage contract administration.
7. Developing detailed project plans, including budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
8. Leading and managing water engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered within budget and on schedule.
9. Collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
10. Providing technical expertise and guidance to project teams, including junior engineers and support staff.
11. Performing site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, quality, and adherence to specifications.
12. Preparing and reviewing technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
13. Monitoring and controlling project costs, including tracking expenses and managing change orders.
14. Identifying and mitigating project risks and implementing effective risk management strategies.
15. Fostering effective communication and collaboration among project team members and stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
16. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
17. Minimum of 7 years of experience in water engineering, with a focus on feasibility study, detailed design, planning approvals, procurement, and construction contract administration of water infrastructure projects.
18. 2 years experience working on UK Water Utility projects for Design-Build Contractors or similar experience working in a client-facing role.
19. Strong knowledge of water engineering principles, practices, and regulations.
20. Proficiency in the design of water infrastructure projects and analysis software.
21. Strong knowledge of various contract forms for construction contracts.
22. Proven track record in successfully managing water engineering projects of varying complexity.
23. Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet project milestones.
