About the Role:
In partnership with a non-profit organisation based in Dublin, Ireland, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Care and Support Worker to join our team.

Two positions available: 1 x Part-time Specific Purpose Contract (19.5 hours) and 1 x Full Time Permanent Contract (39 hours)

Key Responsibilities:
1. Participate in the development and implementation of Care and Placement Plans, ensuring accurate recording.
2. Promote the rights and responsibilities of each young person within the Service.
3. Enhance the physical, emotional, social, and religious/spiritual welfare of each young person in care.
4. Encourage attendance at school, training centres, medical, and clinical appointments.
5. Organise personal documents, arrangements, information, and finance on behalf of the young person.
6. Liaise with parents, families, general services, and other agencies on behalf of the young person.
7. Attend meetings related to the care and development of the young person.
8. Engage in age-appropriate play and activities with each young person within the Service.
9. Engage in physical intervention, following local policies and procedures.
10. Accountable for any money spent on behalf of the service, demonstrating effective planning and organising skills.
11. Make regular written and verbal reports to the Manager on the progress of young people.
12. Report and record any incidents, no matter how minor.
13. Assist with student supervision under the direction of the Social Care Manager.
14. Be familiar with emergency procedures and know who to contact in an emergency.
15. Follow Child Protection procedures as a designated officer.
16. Stay up-to-date with current legislation and professional child care knowledge.
17. Promote young people's participation in decision-making affecting their lives.
18. Attend meetings and report to the Manager on matters impacting the delivery of the Service.
Requirements:
* Third-level Degree in Social Care
* Full clean driving license
* Proven direct work experience in social care or equivalent
* Experience supporting marginalised clients/groups, preferably adolescents
* Working knowledge of social issues affecting young people, particularly those with trauma and attachment issues
* Ability to manage and support young people in crisis, adhering to best practice principles
* Working knowledge of national standards for children's residentials
* Experience with key working, assessments, and care planning
* Understanding of Child Protection
