About the Role:
A Manufacturing Company located in County Louth is currently expanding their team and looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join. The role offers the chance to be part of a close-knit team while developing your own knowledge and skills. The individual should be highly motivated with a willingness to succeed within the company as they expect pace, cooperation, and accountability.
You will be tasked with the development, commissioning, and support of automation control systems across a wide spectrum of industries utilizing cutting-edge technologies.
Roles & Responsibilities Include:
1. Responsible for design and development of automated equipment to meet customer requirements, owning design elements from concept to project delivery.
2. Design analysis and optimization.
3. Project documentation (technical document creation, review, and control).
4. Contribute to the delivery of projects, to the required scope, budget, schedule, and quality, reporting back on project progress and performance from concept/proposal through execution, delivery, and review.
5. Ensure project requirements are reviewed and understood, and agreed with the customer.
6. Plan and prioritize work across multiple projects and ensure completion.
7. Work with multi-discipline teams to achieve project and company goals.
8. Collaborate with project teams, sharing knowledge and working on problem-solving.
9. Contribute to continuous improvement within the department and across the business.
10. 3D design of mechatronic equipment including mechanisms, transfer systems, servo systems, robotics, pneumatics, electrical equipment, and machine guarding.
11. Must be a self-starter with good attention to detail, willing to take ownership and responsibility to release project milestones.
Skills & Experience Required:
1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering (8+ years) or similar discipline.
2. 7+ years’ experience in Mechanical Design/Engineering with responsibility for design sign-off, installation, and commissioning.
3. Experience in the use of Solidworks is essential; Autodesk Inventor or equivalent package considered.
4. Experience in the development of automated equipment is an advantage.
5. Thorough knowledge of automation principles and procedures.
6. Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication.
7. Positive attitude towards work with a willingness to continually learn.
8. Well-organized approach to work.
