We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our client, a growing Plastics manufacturer based in County Wicklow. The Engineering Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all engineering activities within the plant. This role will report directly to the Plant Manager and work closely with the leadership team to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards, while driving productivity and cost improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the engineering function, overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with health and safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Manage and drive lean and continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on efficiency and cost reduction.
- Oversee the planning and execution of engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
- Lead the development of engineering strategies in collaboration with the site leadership team to minimize downtime and enhance site performance.
- Take responsibility for achieving engineering KPIs, setting clear objectives and ensuring timely progress.
- Manage capital projects and ensure compliance with global engineering standards and statutory requirements.
- Promote new technologies and innovative practices to improve site operations.
- Ensure the development and training of the engineering team, identifying skill gaps and opportunities for growth.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to meet site objectives.
- Ensure effective budget management, forecasting, and adherence to financial protocols.
Key Requirements:
- At least a level 6 in Engineering or a related discipline, minimum of 3 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record in engineering project management, with strong skills in planning, scheduling, and team leadership.
- Experience in lean principles, problem-solving techniques, and breakdown analysis.
- Financial and commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and cost-saving initiatives.
- Proficiency in electrical systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across all levels of the organization.
