Medforce is currently recruiting Director of Nursing (DON) for Health and Wellbeing vaccination programme for the Mid West Region in Co.
Limerick with a contract up to the end of December 2025.
The Director of Nursing (DON) will be responsible for ensuring compliance with medicines protocols and medication management across the programme.
As the clinical lead for the vaccination programme, the DON will oversee all clinical staff, including their deployment and skill mix.
Additionally, the DON will develop, implement, and monitor processes to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of the vaccination programme.
They will also be responsible for future planning, including the integration of any new vaccination workstreams.
The Director of Nursing (DON) will oversee all clinical activity across all vaccination workstreams, including the management of staff for the programme.
The DON will collaborate with the General Manager to ensure the effective functioning of the service within the area.
This includes supporting PQs, press queries, complaints, YSYS, incident management, equipment service records, supply monitoring and management, and resolution of data quality issues.
Requirements
· Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration in the General Nurse Division of the NMBI Register.
· At least 10 years of post-registration nursing experience, including a minimum of 5 years in nursing management at CNM 2 level, with at least 3 years in a community-related setting.
· Candidates must have successfully completed a post-registration programme at NFQ Level 8 or higher in a healthcare or management-related area or provide evidence of equivalent ECTS credits.
· Applicants must possess the necessary clinical, leadership, managerial, and administrative skills for the role.
· Practitioners are required to maintain live annual registration with NMBI and confirm this annually to the HSE through the Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
· Working knowledge of HIQA standards, procedures, and guidelines.
· Demonstrate extensive experience in the delivery of vaccination programs.
· Showcase experience in implementing quality improvement initiatives within the health service.
· A Valid Driving licence is required.
