The Chief Executive of Skillnet Ireland is responsible for leading the agency in implementing its mandate, working with the Board to ensure that it meets training objectives and reaches annual targets. The role involves developing and promoting innovative programmes and initiatives, raising the profile of Skillnet Ireland through liaison with industry and education sectors, and managing a team of professionals.
The successful candidate will have a relevant third-level qualification, experience at a senior executive level, and an understanding of transformation within a global business environment. They will be able to demonstrate evidence of strategic delivery, innovation, and technical competence across the talent development value chain.
The Chief Executive will work closely with the Department of Further & Higher Education, Research, Innovation & Science, lead the engagement with Government ministers and officials, and build relations with EU stakeholders. They will provide thought leadership, keep abreast of HRD developments, and represent the agency as its principal spokesperson.
Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance and risk control, maintaining legislative and regulatory obligations, and overseeing operations, finance, communications, and governance. The successful candidate will promote an inclusive culture and deliver results-driven solutions.
