We are currently recruiting a Part-time Member Service Officer (18.50 hours per week over a 2 week period). Monasterevan Credit Union Limited is a community Credit Union and now has an exciting opportunity for a Teller/Member Service Officer part-time position (Thursday 8 hrs / Friday 8 hrs / and every second Saturday 5 hrs).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:
Reporting to the Manager, this role will have a variety of duties within the credit union. Such duties include:
* Processing of loan applications and account opening / new membership applications.
* Balancing own batch on a daily basis.
* Promoting the products and services of Monasterevan Credit Union Limited in daily member engagement.
* Supporting the Marketing Committee on offsite promotional days.
* Contributing to the achievement of Monasterevan Credit Union Limited targets and goals.
* Dealing with member queries on any Credit Union related matter.
* Co-operating with the Manager in the development and/or implementation of new technology or services.
* Being aware of and compliant with various procedures, legislation, and regulations governing Credit Union operations.
* Being aware of and complying with all Health Safety regulations as directed by the Manager within Monasterevan Credit Union Limited.
* Undertaking such other reasonable and lawful duties as may be directed from time to time by the Manager.
* Assisting the members with credit control queries and loan queries and directing them to the appropriate department.
* Promoting and assisting members with any of the range of services offered by Monasterevan Credit Union Limited.
* Undertaking back-office administrative / operational duties as the needs of the office demand (e.g., maintaining records and files).
* Making telephone calls to and receiving calls from the credit union members.
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:
* Team worker with strong communication and organisational skills.
* Excellent IT skills.
* Excellent administration skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to multi-task in a busy team environment and work off own initiative.
Education, Skills and Experience Required:
* Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification.
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role in a credit union is desirable.
* Member focused, with a friendly and professional manner.
* Ability to perform under pressure and work on own initiative.
* Excellent administration skills and attention to detail, with keyboard computer skills as essential.
* Excellent communication and inter-personal skills with a track record of member service.
* QFA/APA qualification is desirable and will be mandatory if successful.
