HGV Mechanic is responsible for carrying out the repair, maintenance and inspection of vehicles & plant and equipment in accordance with legislation guidelines, policies and procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintenance upkeep and repair of HGV & LGV vehicles & equipment
2. General Application Certification of hoists and cranes
3. To complete work to a high standard in accordance with legislation guidelines, policies and procedures and report all defects to Lead Mechanic and/or Fleet Supervisor
4. To complete all work safely and contribute positively to the development of the team and self
5. To carry out tasks/responsibilities and test and certification of vehicles and equipment assigned in a timely and cost-effective manner
6. To provide excellent customer service
7. To maintain knowledge and skills in order to carry out full range of duties in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner
8. To work well both as a team member and on own initiative to assist in the achievement of business objectives
Essential Experience and Qualifications
Applicants Must Have Successfully Completed a Recognised And Relevant Mechanical Apprenticeship And Have Attained The Appropriate Craft Accreditation Certificate With FAS/Solas In One Of The Following:
1. Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
2. Motor Mechanic
3. Construction Plant Fitter - with relevant commercial vehicle experience
4. Agricultural Mechanics - with relevant commercial vehicle experience
Full driver’s license (B Category) is essential.
Desirable
Minimum 3 years relevant work experience is desirable. Hydraulics experience is desirable but not essential.

Reporting to
The successful candidate will report to the Garage Supervisor, Dublin.
