Role Purpose:
Primarily responsible for the implementation, monitoring and review of the occupational health & safety management system across Musgrave Wholesale Partners locations, including transport function, and supporting locations in the management of facilities and security. Please note this may on occasion travel to Northern Ireland sites if required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Management and Review of Occupational Health & Safety Management System
2. Working with MWP Sites to implement OHSMS
3. Measuring the Occupational H&S Management System across MWP
4. Health & Safety Awareness and Communication
5. To support business in management of Claims, Facilities and Security
Key Activities:
1. To assist in the ongoing design; and implement and maintain the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) for Musgrave Wholesale Partners (MWP) in accordance with current legislation
2. To work with all sites, including acquisitions on a continuous basis to implement in full the designed OHSMS for MWP and that designed Action Plans are completed.
3. To work with all sites on a continuous basis to ensure that they achieve their leading and lagging safety performance indicator targets.
4. To ensure that health and safety is effectively communicated across MWP to all stakeholders by prominent awareness campaigns and thorough instruction
5. To assist in the implementation of security and facilities management across all MWP sites.
6. To assist the Company H&S Manager in the management of insurance claims across MWP.
7. Occasional travel to the UK will be required as part of this role
Experience, Skills and Education:
1. Health and Safety degree or NEBOSH H&S diploma (minimum) or at least in the process of attaining either.
2. Recognised training qualifications (e.g. Manual Handling Instructor, Manual Handling, Fire Safety, etc.).
3. Member of Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
4. Excellent planning, organization and interpersonal skills.
5. Communication Skills
6. Thorough approach to work with an acute focus on attention to detail
7. Excellent PC Skills to include Microsoft Office
8. Previous health & safety experience in a wholesale or FMCG environment and transport (min. 2 years)
9. Previous experience of managing a Health and Safety System to OHSAS 18001 standards or similar
10. Accuracy and strong attention to detail
11. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to form effective working relationships with people at all levels
12. Ability to manage time/workload effectively
13. Integrity and confidentiality
14. Competent in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Visio
