Aviva Life & Pensions have an exciting new role in our Risk and Control function for a 24 month Fixed term contract. This role will assist the Governance and Control Manager embedding risk and control within ALPIs first line functions enabling managers to run this element of their business effectively.

The successful applicant will take personal responsibility in delivering a significant and sustained strengthening of governance, controls, risk management and good customer outcomes, demonstrably underpinned and driven by a culture of risk awareness and accountability.
You will support our first line with Operational Risk and Control Management through numerous avenues i.e monitoring and developing effective tiered MI to support the business manage Risk exposures, design and roll out of effective training to Risk Champions, Owners and Nominees of iCare Events and take part in the support and challenge of issue closures relating to 2nd and 3rd line reviews and audits. You will also ensure the Quality Assurance of controls currently in place, ensuring they are designed adequately and operating effectively, including reassurance that sufficient testing has been completed and any deficiencies identified, with effective actions in place to address control deficiencies.
This role is based in our Dublin office and adheres to Aviva's hybrid working policy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Supporting Risk Champions as an escalation point.
2. Identifying trends in Risk Events and Issues and highlighting to G&A for review.
3. Oversight of internal team reporting, including identification of key trends and concerns to address within the business.
4. Oversight of Risk Events, Errors and Breaches, including regular reporting and sampling of lessons learned and root cause analysis.
5. Collation of metrics for relevant papers regarding local and group reporting.

1. Ability to analyse data and make it easy to interpret.
2. Stakeholder management at a senior level.
3. A versatile team player, able to operate with minimal supervision with an ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility for decision making.
4. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to effectively prioritise workloads and work to critical deadlines.
