Role: Commercial Manager
The leader of the Commercial team will be responsible for managing a team of buyers and administrative staff. They will be responsible for ensuring all team members are working in sync to achieve the maximum outputs, ensuring profitable outcomes in all channels that exceed budget plans. They will have responsibility for the OTC and FOS commercial function in the company. This includes the purchasing, distribution and category management function.
Key Responsibilities:
Management
* Responsible for the management of the Commercial team; leading, collaborating and developing in line with the Navi’s overall mission and KPIs
* Responsible for the management and reporting of Navi commercial budgets
* Prepare briefing documents and updates for the Management team meetings on Navi Commercial KPIs
* Manage and influence senior-level supplier contacts and maintain positive working relationships, as well as working proactively to identify new business opportunities by networking and researching with new companies
* Supporting the Sales and Marketing department by conducting an analysis of commercial opportunities
* Thorough understanding of the Navi business partner objectives. Clear communication of this to all internal team members, as relevant
Trade Planning and Promotions
* Develop a best in class Trade Plan for both Franchise / Silent Symbol and Non-Franchise customers
* Complete JBPs with key suppliers and ensure margin is being maximised
* Monitor the revenue/margin generated from promotions and increase where possible
* Improve communication regarding promotions and monitor uptake and compliance
* Training protocols need to be developed and implemented. Once training has been undertaken, the success of the training has to be monitored and reviewed
Pricefile Management
* To ensure the team have negotiated best discounts effectively with key suppliers, existing and new, within the context of Franchise and Non-Franchise customers
* Management of all cost and retail prices for our Franchise and Non-Franchise customers
* Requirement to be the product owner of the price management tool used internally (Promise)
* Providing stock updates and recommended alternatives to ensure our customers are maximising margin and volumes are being defaulted to the number 2 line
Planograms
* Ensure purchasing terms and supplier joint business plan agreements are being reflected in the planograms
* Ensure planograms are being updated regularly especially to reflect commercial changes and new product launches
* Ensure planograms are being communicated to pharmacies effectively and implemented properly
* Setting and monitoring of Category Management KPIs
Customer Centric Approach
* Conducting market research, analysing customer data, and/or actively seeking feedback from customers to gain insights that can drive commercial decisions
* Responsible for ensuring customer cases and queries are addressed immediately to uphold the highest levels of customer service
Skills/Experience
* Third level qualification in a relevant discipline, ideally Business
* Strong understanding of the healthcare environment and target audience gained through significant experience in a healthcare or pharmaceutical company role
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt communication styles when interacting with clients, senior management and employees
* Excellent conflict resolution, interpersonal skills and ability to build lasting relationships with pharmacy suppliers and customers
* Excel in analytical and strategic thinking, highly organised and are exceptional communicators
* Approachable, hands-on manager, trainer, delegator with strong leadership skills
* Must be a strategic thinker and have strong negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and industry contacts
* Exceptional organisation skills and a strong work ethic
* Familiarity with CRM software and sales reporting tools
* Competent in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
