Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Chef to oversee the day-to-day operations within our kitchen. In conjunction with the Head Chef, this individual will be responsible for managing cost and quality control, ensuring food safety, and maintaining high standards of personal hygiene.
Main Responsibilities
* To manage the general day-to-day running of the kitchen, working closely with the Head Chef.
* To ensure effective cost and quality control for both incoming and outgoing goods.
* To maintain the hygiene of the kitchen at all times, adhering to relevant health regulations.
* To assist the Head Chef in menu planning, costing, and pricing.
* To lead and work well in a team, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
* To train and develop junior members of the team, promoting their growth and development.
* To maintain accurate records, including temperature readings and stock rotation.
* To adhere to allergen procedures and guidelines, prioritizing customer safety.
* NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Food Preparation and Cooking or equivalent qualification.
* Intermediate Food Safety Certificate.
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in a busy kitchen environment, with knowledge of all sections and styles of cooking.
* Prior experience as a senior chef, with full knowledge of EHO regulations and due diligence.
* Able to work flexible hours, adapting to the demands of the role.
