The Position
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant with a strong financial background to join our leading international firm and specifically our award-winning Financial Accounting and Outsourcing Services Division.
The successful candidate will be managing department resources to ensure appropriate utilisation in managing a portfolio of clients. Working collaboratively with the management team to ensure client satisfaction.
Our Financial Accounting and Outsourcing team support our clients to better run their finance functions, understand their financial position and performance, and to ensure they are compliant with changing accounting and tax legislation.
The successful candidate will work with a diverse range of clients across various industries, assisting with all aspects of their accounting lifecycle. This ambitious individual will thrive on working as part of a dynamic team and delivering first in class client services .
Key Responsibilities
* Managing departmental resources with a portfolio of clients resourced from a combined pool of staff to achieve client service and quality.
* Developing staff in areas of mentoring, training and ongoing support.
* Ensuring adherence to client and filing deadlines through planning, scheduling and overseeing individual client projects
* Managing a diverse portfolio of clients.
* Prepare management accounts, VAT returns (inc VAT, VIES and Intrastat Returns), statutory financial statements, complete reconciliations, and lead book keeping projects, secondment roles, forecasting and budgeting and other ad hoc department projects.
* Oversight of billing and fees including budgeting and the timely preparation of invoices.
* Drive high-quality service delivery within expected timeframes and on budget.
* Bring technical expertise and a strong knowledge and application of various accounting standards, primarily, FRS 102
* Ensure appropriate maintenance of financial information for a broad range of clients using various accounting software packages including Xero and Sage 50
* Creating and updating financial statements as required and in conjunction with the team using accounts production software
* Remaining up to date with all accounting and regulatory standards to ensure compliance with all legislative practices.
* Liaising with various external stakeholders providing support as required including external auditors as part of the year end audit process for individual clients
* Building strong relationships with client representatives
* Manage expectations of client service delivery
* Measurement against collective (departmental) targets for chargeable time, billing, net fee income and cash collection as well as personal and firm-wide goals
* Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment and play an active role in mentoring junior team members within the organisation
Ideal Candidate
* Qualified ACA/ACCA
* Experienced senior accountant in a professional services or industry environment (3+ years)
* An ambitious individual with a desire to deliver strong client services and grow and develop a team
* Proven ability in leading a team and engagements
* Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with a willingness to learn new systems
* Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to manage multiple engagements
* Excellent time management skills with an ability to work effectively to deadlines
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* A self-motivated individual with an ability to work on their own initiative with an awareness for when to seek assistance and work collaboratively
* Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills, both written and verbal
* Energy, enthusiasm and passion for a new challenge
* Ability to learn quickly with an interest in legislative developments including local GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP, VAT changes etc.
Salary: €80,000 - €110,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience
