Job Title:
Fire Prevention Officers and Fire Engineers
About the Role:
We are seeking experienced professionals to provide risk management advice for the protection of staff, public, and patients in medical-related facilities such as hospitals or medical centres.
Key Responsibilities:
* Advise on the suitability of equipment to reduce risks within the organisation.
* Report on areas of fire and infrastructural risk where action is required.
* Investigate accidents and provide reports.
* Be a member of the Integrated Quality and Risk committee.
* Monitor and report on health and safety performance of external contractors.
* Assist in setting up and amending Emergency Plans.
* Provide input into planning expenditure related to Fire Safety.
* Regularly inspect buildings, means of escape, and fire-fighting equipment.
* Drawing up of fire orders and evacuation schemes.
* Regular inspection of places, premises, and equipment that present a special risk of fire.
* Instruction of staff in fire hazards, operation of fire equipment, and means of escape.
* Arranging regular fire drills.
* Maintaining water supply for firefighting purposes.
* Ensuring compliance with Fire Protection Standards and Building Regulations.
* Monitoring means of escape.
* Keeping proper records of inspections, fires, and fire-fighting equipment.
* Reporting on the state of fire prevention services.
* Arranging implementation of fire prevention work programmes.
* Monitoring and reporting on health and safety issues.
* Coordinating training requirements for staff.
* Acting as an information source and resource on fire safety matters.
Requirements:
* HETAC level 7 qualification in engineering, fire engineering, architecture, Health and Safety, or similar field.
* At least two years' experience in a comparable Fire and Safety role.
* Pro-active commitment to communications with stakeholders.
