Purpose of the Role:
1. The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination of the Cleft Service to meet the needs of children, young people and their families throughout the country.
2. While the service is located in CHI at Temple Street, the post holder will take responsibility for developing and maintaining strong and effective communication links with the cross-site teams and the CHI corporate Teams.
3. The post holder will develop and maintain links with external agencies and organisations e.g. The European Reference Network, Cleft Service Co-ordinators and Clinical/Network Managers within the Craniofacial Society of Great Britain and Ireland (CFSGBI) and relevant parent/professional support groups, such as ‘Changing Faces’.
4. The post holder will contribute to strategic and operational team decision making as a key member of CHI cross city cleft services at Temple Street and Crumlin, along with the complementary paediatric cleft services located in St James’s Hospital, to ensure the consistent delivery and continued development of high quality, outcome driven patient care in CHI at Temple Street in the first instance and ultimately in the new children’s hospital.
Essential Criteria:
1. Must have a relevant clinical professional qualification and be registered with the appropriate professional body.
2. Must have a minimum of three years post qualification experience.
3. Must have a minimum of three years’ experience working in a healthcare setting including knowledge of clinical processes and patient administration systems.
4. Must have experience of delivering quality improvement in a healthcare environment.
5. Must have previous management experience.
6. Must have well established ICT skills.
