Senior Project Manager
This is an exciting opportunity to join a local business, one of the longest established engineering companies based in Newry. Our company has been in business for over 50 years, exporting our products and services to over thirty countries worldwide.
We are currently recruiting a Senior Project Manager to manage all aspects of capital/maintenance contracts in the water and wastewater industry.
Your New Role
You will report directly to the Operations Director and be responsible for:
* Taking ownership of contracts from start to completion and handing them over to clients
* Purchasing equipment and subcontracting services at the most advantageous rates
* Ensuring the completion of individual contracts within budget and time frame
* Liaising with framework partners on projects in NI and ROI
* Preparing CAD drawings as needed for contracts
* Attending site progress meetings with contractors and customers
* Liaising with and supporting site engineers on their daily job requirements
* Liaising and supporting subcontract personnel on site
* Ensuring work on site is carried out safely and in accordance with current health and safety guidelines
* Improving gross profit margins on jobs through efficient contract management
* Managing risks and opportunities on projects and delivering improvements and client satisfaction
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A formal qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
* A minimum of 4 years' post-qualification experience in an engineering environment
* Proven project management experience
* Experience working on NI Water and/or Irish Water contracts
* Competence with AutoCAD drawing software and MS Project Management software
* A high level of IT skill in using MS Word, Excel, Teams, etc.
