Estimating Manager
The Estimating Manager is responsible for overseeing estimating operations and leading the estimating process within a larger business unit.
The incumbent will provide coaching and mentorship to the estimating team, oversee project scope reviews, identify constructability requirements, propose bid strategies, and review labour and equipment productivities.
The Estimating Manager will also confirm subcontractor bids, participate in bid closings, develop scopes of work for subcontractors, engage in market testing, assess manpower planning, and lead the estimating team on large projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide coaching and mentorship to the estimating team
* Oversee project scope of work reviews
* Identify and develop constructability requirements
* Propose and approve bid strategies
* Review and confirm labour and equipment productivities
* Confirm subcontractor bids
* Participate in or lead bid closings
* Develop scopes of work for subcontractors
* Engage in market testing and benchmark costing
* Assess manpower planning and allocation
* Lead the estimating team on large projects
Requirements:
* Completion of a related diploma or degree at a college or technical school
* Gold Seal Certified, LEED Accredited, LEAN experience, MRICS, and CIQS are assets
* 15+ years of construction project management and estimating experience
* Experience with different procurement methods
* Ability to collaborate with operations and internal stakeholders
* Thorough understanding of most contract types
* Proficiency in Graham software suite, MS Excel, scheduling software, and BIM modelling is an asset
Salary: $200k-$220k DOE. Benefits include work permit fees covered, bonus, pension, healthcare, dental, and relocation assistance.
