Financial Accountant Role Overview
This role is initially offered on a contract basis with a leading semi-state in West Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for management accounts, financial returns, fixed assets, and training, providing operational and personnel support.
Responsibilities:
* Preparation of monthly management accounts with emphasis on variance analysis and KPIs.
* Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register.
* Management of debtors/creditors journals, nominal ledgers, reconciliations, and control accounts.
* Providing assistance to the Financial Controller or their nominee on ad-hoc projects.
* Preparing reports for the parent Department on a monthly and quarterly basis.
* Preparing RCT returns.
* Assisting with the implementation of a new Financial Management System, including data testing, data migration, and parallel running of systems.
* Assisting with the preparation of manuals and training staff on the new system.
* Performing other duties as assigned by the Financial Controller or nominee.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Essential: A recognized third-level qualification at a minimum level of NFQ Level 7, or equivalent.
* A full Category B driving licence valid in Ireland.
* Strong MS Excel skills.
* Excellent working knowledge of financial management systems.
* Experience with Fixed Asset Registers.
* Management Accounts experience.
* Desirable: Experience in project management.
* Relevant knowledge and/or experience of public sector finance.
