Kitchen Assistant Job Description
Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Trinity House. The successful candidate will assist the Cook and Assistant Cook in preparing nutritional meals for residents, working within the Christian ethos of the Council for Social Witness.
Main Responsibilities:
* Assist with food preparation and serving.
* Keep kitchen areas clean and tidy, including shelves, drawers, cooker, floors, tiles, and appliances.
* Wash dishes and maintain records as required.
* Prepare snacks and vegetables, set up tables for meals, and arrange laundry.
* Clean and tidy dining room and assist with other duties as needed.
Requirements:
* Understanding of and respect for older people's needs.
* Awareness of health and safety practices.
* Qualifications: NVQ2 in Food Preparation & Cooking (or equivalent) is desirable.
* Experience: Working with older people and in a kitchen environment is desirable.
* Personal attributes: Integrity, honesty, patience, even temperament, ability to work independently, confidentiality, and respect for management and supervision.
