What is the opportunity?We are looking for a Cloud Technical Site Reliability Engineer to join our Cloud Centre of Excellence.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to the overall Bank of Ireland IT Digital transformation journey.
You will work with the best talent in a multi-vendor environment and be part of a growing team which is building solutions from scratch using native technologies and supporting critical workloads on cloud.
In this Role, you willCollaborate with development teams to implement and deploy new features and enhancements ensuring they meet reliability and performance standards.Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor systems, proactively identifying and resolving any performance bottlenecks, availability issues or monitoring gaps.Support the CCoE to understand the error budgets for the platforms and critical workloads.Own the Problem Management process within the CCoE, performing proactive problem management and conducting post-incident analyses to identify root causes and implement preventive measures to avoid future incidents.Support the Change Management and UAM process as required, focusing on low impact to customers or 0 where possible (Blue/green, canary deployments) - Based on error budgets.Create and maintain documentation such as operational procedures and Technical Operations Manuals.What will make you stand out?You have demonstrated work experience in a similar operational role ideally managing business critical environments with experience managing public cloud infrastructure (AWS and Azure an advantage).
Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and command line tools, and proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Shell will make you stand out!
Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible or Chef, and experience with code management and deployment tools such as Bitbucket and Jenkins or native tooling make you an attractive candidate.
You will have a good understanding of networking and communication systems (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, etc.)
and knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse and resolve complex technical issues, whilst working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment will help you succeed in this role.
Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail whilst working under pressure and independently with minimal guidance is key.

The Cloud Centre of Excellence has the mission to enable Cloud and to act as a trusted advisor for the Cloud Adoption in the Bank which is a foundation for Digital Transformation.
This is a hybrid onsite role and can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as ITC, Cabinteely, Dublin 18.
Travel will be required for in-person collaboration - exact frequency to be agreed with manager.
