Background and Role
The School of Biotechnology at Dublin City University invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher role in Nanomaterials. The appointee will join a multidisciplinary team to contribute to a funded project focusing on the development and scale-up of an innovative bionanomaterial-based biofouling control solution.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the principal investigator, the duties and responsibilities of the position include:
* Conduct a specified programme of research under the supervision of the Principal Investigator
* Responsible for the safe use of compressed gas/cylinder in the PI’s research lab
* Contributing to laboratory management, maintenance, and inventory management
* Delivering research outputs according to project schedules
* Reporting research/project outputs regularly as required by the project schedule
* Engaging with relevant stakeholders and overseeing outreach to different audiences
* Participating in project meetings and collaborating with partners across the project consortia
* Working closely with and supporting team members
* Carrying out administrative work associated with the programme of research
* Handling confidential information and data in a sensitive manner
Minimum Requirements:
* PhD in bio nanocomposites, nanomaterial synthesis, organic-based nanoparticles, or related area
* Experience in using and maintaining compressed gas/cylinder
Desirable Qualifications:
* Experience in bio-nanocomposite synthesis
* Experience in material surface analysis
* Experience in working with enzymes
* Lead author of publications or patents in the field of nanomaterials/bio-nanocomposites
* Experience in synthesis process scale-up
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
Salary Scale:
IUA Postdoctoral Researcher Salary Scale €44,847. Appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
